Set to supersede the outgoing IEC 60950-1 and IEC 60065 standards, the IEC 62368-1 standard represents an important transition for designers of ICT and audio-visual equipment. IEC 62368-1 is more significant than a simple merger of the two current standards and applies not only to the end system, but also to components such as power supplies.
