Manufacturers of data loggers don´t need certificates for their products anymore. The use of STS32, STS33 or SHT33 calibrated sensors manufactured by Sensirion and ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 is sufficient.

Calibration of Sensirion Sensors According to ISO/IEC 17025: 2017
The Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS), a public body of the Swiss government, has accredited Sensirion for calibration according to ISO/IEC 17025: 2017.
All Sensirion STS32, STS33 and SHT33 temperature sensors are calibrated at three temperatures:
- T= – 30 °C,
- T = 5 °C a
- T = 70 °C.
“Every sensor is identified by its serial number (“Get Serial Number” command). The manufacturer provides a calibration certificate for the entire package of sensors, i.e. a roll of 2500 pcs in pdf and CSV format. The certificate is available at the web address listed on the delivery note,” says Miroslav Piskor, SOS electronic product specialist.
Sensirion STS33, and SHT33 temperature sensors have an accuracy better than ± 0.48 ˚C at all three calibration points and are most suitable for frozen goods.
The STS32 sensor provides accuracy at calibration points better than:
- ± 1 ˚C at – 30 ˚C,
- ± 0,4 ˚C at 5 ˚C a
- ± 0,45 ˚C at 70 ˚C, which is well suited for refrigerated goods.
How And with What to Start the Development?
“Standard STS3x and SHT3x sensors have the same features as calibrated ISO/IEC, and thus you can start your development with ‘standard’ sensors. If you prefer to use the STS32, 33 or SHT33 sensor instead, we will be happy to provide you with free samples for your project. Currently, however, the mentioned temperature sensors are only available in rolls of 2500 pieces. We cannot deliver smaller quantities yet,” continues Miroslav Piskor, product specialist at SOS electronic.
