The new sensor interfacing modules make Wireless Sensor Networks easy to design

Radiocrafts is introducing a series of sensor interfacing modules, the xSM series, that do not need any external microcontroller or circuitry, just add the sensors, power supply, and antenna. The modules will be, together with the sensors, a complete sensor node in an LPWAN network with up to several kilometers range. The longest range is available using 169 MHz Wireless M-Bus or Sigfox.

  • For local networking applications, the Wireless M-Bus modules (169 MHz or 868 MHz) will connect to any standard Wireless M-Bus based gateway and, from there, on to the core network and the cloud. Setting up Wireless M-Bus for industrial applications is easy, as we have shown in our application note AN024. Our partners has many options for off-the-shelf gateways if you do not wish to develop one yourself.
  • For roaming applications, the Sigfox module is ideal and will connect directly to the Sigfox network and on to the Cloud
  • The modules are supported with a Development Kit that includes a sensor board, the sensor interfacing RF module and has 6 different sensors included. This is ideal for testing and fast prototyping.
