TE Connectivity introduces latest generation of industrial thermal transfer printers

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has launched the latest generation of industrial thermal transfer printers for tagging a wide range of products. The printers produce high quality results on diverse substrates including heat-shrink sleeves, cable markers, labels, and even continuous tube.

There are two printers in the new range, the T3224 and T3212. Both are robust and designed for continuous desktop use in office and industrial environments. Ultra-sharp output is in either 300 or 600 dpi resolution. Compared to the two models they replace (respectively the TE3124 and TE3112), the new printers are nearly 20 percent faster, printing at speeds of up to 300 Millimeters per second.

The new T3224 and T3212 printers are easy to install and operate. They have a full-color touch screen interface, with intuitive icon-based setting adjustments. Various preloaded tutorials answer commonly-asked questions without the unit having to connect to the internet. If however an internet connection is required for your application, this can be done wirelessly via a local Wi-Fi network, or via cable: the printers are equipped with USB, Ethernet and serial ports. Labels or ribbons can also be loaded quickly and easily. “Smart” print heads have built-in memory to facilitate the maintenance program. This includes the tracking of prints and the printing temperature.

Both printers can be bundled with TE’s WinTotal v6 software, which supports high quality printing applications. WinTotal is a label/marker design package that makes wire marker printing simple in an industrial environment. Running in the familiar Windows environment, WinTotal v6 has 2,500 standard TE Identification products pre-installed. This makes the creation and printing of Identification sleeves or labels a quick and simple task.

“These new printers are easier than ever to use, they are highly connectable and extremely reliable,” says TE Connectivity’s product manager Philippe Contri. “We anticipate interest from users in numerous markets, especially in aerospace, railways, machine building and electrical panel construction – but essentially anywhere where people need to tag a lot of our components. With our hardware, software, and technical support, we offer complete solutions for all our customers.”
