Mikrotron Ships its First CoaXPress v2.0 Camera

Mikrotron, a global leader in machine imaging solutions, has extended the EoSens® portfolio with its first CoaXPress v2.0 camera, the EoSens 1.1CXP2. Available now, the EoSens 1.1CXP2 leverages the Luxima™ LUX13HS 1.0 megapixel CMOS image sensor and is housed in a fanless metal casing for protection in harsh environments that require data rates over 5Gb/s or very complex triggering, such as melt pool monitoring, industrial inspection, laser welding and 3D profiling.

CoaXPress v2.0 was introduced last year to push imaging innovation beyond the limitations of current machine vision standards. The EoSens 1.1CXP2 uses the fastest version of the CoaXPress v2.0, CXP-12. In doing so, it can transfer full-frame 1280 x 864 pixel images at data rates of 3660 frames-per-second (fps) to provide continuous and sustained data rates much faster than USB3 Vision or 10 GigE Vision. It can achieve a rate of 50 Gbit/s via four CXP-12 channels even over extended cable lengths up to 40m, compared to 10m for Camera Link and 16m for USB3. At reduced resolutions the camera can achieve a staggering 224,600 fps.

As OEM vendors take on more custom solutions, integrating standard industrial machine vision cameras can be a challenge due to space constraints and limited flexibility. The EoSens 1.1CXP2’s advanced feature-set is built within a compact 80 x 80 x 53mm housing that easily fits into the tightest spaces, allowing builders to minimize the entire size of their application.

Sensitivity plays a critical role in acquiring images in high-speed applications where lighting is not always optimal. The EoSens 1.1CXP2 distinquishes itself with extreme sensitivity of 20 V/luxs @ 550 nm so it can capture high-contrast images in low or uneven lighting conditions. Advanced Gamma Correction also assists in ensuring perfect color or monochrome images.

By raising innovation to the next level with its new EoSens 1.1CXP2, Mikrotron can now provide its customers with a more agile means to universally adapt to growing demands for more bandwidth and higher speeds.
