Bernd Eder will leave Kontron Transportation GmbH as CEO at the end of June 2024. Richard Neussl, previously COO of the Kontron Transportation Group, will headed the Group as an verified and proven manager.
Bernd Eder is leaving the management of Kontron Transportation GmbH at his own request at the end of June 2024. Bernd Eder has worked in the project and system integration business in the railway industry for more than 15 years and has held leading positions in the Kontron Transportation Group since 2019, most recently as CEO and member of the Extended Management Board of Kontron AG. He began his professional career at Kapsch BusinessCom AG – now Cancom Austria AG – to which he is now returning, and was subsequently CFO of Kapsch CarrierCom AG for ten years.
Bernd Eder played a key role in building up the Kontron Transportation Group and consolidating its strong position in the international railway market. After a phase of economic difficulties, the turnaround was achieved during his era. The company has recently been able to land and realize a number of large, innovative projects and is therefore ideally positioned for the future. The strong sales growth in recent years to over EUR 170 million – also through successful acquisitions – and the establishment of a complete and motivated team to support the international customer base in the railway market and the public transport market underline his successful course. He will continue to advise on a number of strategic projects in the Kontron Transportation Group beyond 1 July 2024 in coordination with all parties involved and bring them to a successful conclusion.
Richard Neussl will take over the position of CEO of Kontron Transportation from 1 July 2024. He is a top manager with many years of international experience at the head of the company. As COO, he has already been responsible for the entire sales division of the Kontron Transportation Group with customers in more than 25 countries worldwide since September 2023. Prior to this, Richard Neussl held leading international positions at Kapsch CarrierCom and Kontron AG for over 25 years. During his career at Kontron Transportation, the sales expert was able to significantly drive business development in the Eastern European markets and strengthen business in the established Western European markets with innovative products, customized solutions and long-term contracts with major railway customers.
