Heyco’s new Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing is a part that is easy on the eyes and the cable! Heyco is proud to announce the release of the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing after many years of research and development. This series of parts combines the liquid tight bushing technology with the strain relief bushing technology, all while offering a low-profile design for applications where aesthetics are important.
Traditional cordgrips and cable glands are somewhat bulky, often protruding over 1” outside of the enclosure or application – the height above panel for Heyco’s Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing however, is less than 0.156” (4,0mm). The body of the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing is constructed out of a Nylon 6/6 material whereas the top of it is constructed out of a flame retardant thermoplastic vulcanizate (currently available in Black, White, or Light Gray). Parts are cULus approved under UL 514B, which means 35 pounds of force can be applied to the cable before the part fails.
Similar to our Lock-it Strain Relief Bushings, the unique design of the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing allows for OEMs and installers to pre-assemble the part onto the cable assembly prior to installing into the application, reducing the amount of time and labor required. Additionally, the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing does not require a locknut like most traditional cordgrips or cable glands, further saving you time & money. By removing the need for a locknut and removing the step where users tighten down the cap of the cable gland or cordgrip to compress the gland around the cable to promise a liquid tight seal, Heyco realized up to a 50% reduction in installation time. In a time study, it took Heyco employees approximately 30 seconds to complete the installation of a Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing versus approximately 1 minute to complete the installation of a liquid tight cable gland/cordgrip. The unique “steps” that are molded into the body of the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing accommodates multiple panel thicknesses ranging from just 0.032” (0,8mm) up to 0.188” (4,8mm) depending on which SKU is selected. Additionally, a broad range of cable diameters can be used with the Liquid Tight Break-Thru Strain Relief Bushing – cables can range from 0.280” (7,1mm) up to .440” (11,2mm).
