Future Electronics Availability of Microsemi AcuEdge Development Kit


Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced immediate shipping availability of Microsemi’s new AcuEdge™ Development Kit for Amazon Alexa Voice Service (AVS), designed to improve the voice recognition rate in adverse environments for emerging human-to-machine (H2M) applications in the IoT (Internet of Things), IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and automated assistance markets.

The AcuEdge Development Kit, part# ZLK38AVS, features Microsemi’s Timberwolf™ ZL38063 multi-microphone audio processor. This field upgradable audio processor is equipped to run the company’s AcuEdge firmware, a suite of audio enhancement processes specifically designed for H2M interface. The ZL38063 platform also offers multiple functional modes, including ASR assist and two-way audio.

Microsemi’s ZLK38AVS AcuEdge Development Kit is designed to enable third party developers and original design manufacturers (ODMs) to evaluate the audio front-end enhancement with Amazon’s AVS. The kit includes a development board and plastic pillar to position microphones and speakers for smart speaker prototype demonstration. The development board interfaces directly to a Raspberry Pi 3 board and speaker, both sold separately. Its quick-start guide and user interface enable users to evaluate Microsemi’s audio solution and provide a quick prototyping platform to accelerate time to market.
