The FM31256 integrates F-RAM memory with the most commonly needed functions for microcontroller-based systems: real-time clock, VDD supervisor, watchdog timer, two event counters, a lockable memory area for the 64-bit serial number, and general-purpose comparator. And you can find it in the SOS electronic eshop / warehouse.
256-Kbit F-RAM (ferroelectric RAM) has the endurance of 100 trillion (1014) write cycles, which is 100 million times more than for EEPROM and offers 151-year data retention.
Real-time Clock/Calendar use standard 32,768 kHz crystal manufactured for load capacitance 6pF. SW calibration allows correct frequency deviation up to ±136ppm. The worst-case final accuracy is ±2.17 ppm or ±0.09 minutes per month at the calibrated temperature.
RTC can use 3 or 3,6V primary lithium batteries or supercapacitors as backup power sources. In the case of the supercapacitor, FM31256 provides trickle charging. Backup current is 1,15uA at 2V and 25℃.
If VDD decreases below the pre-programmed threshold, voltage supervisor drives open-drain reset output RSTn to LOW state. The same pin also serves as a manual reset input. When a low input level is detected, the supervisor turns on the RSTn output to the LOW state for 100 ms. RSTn output contains a weak pull-up resistor.
FM31256 also contains:
- Programmable watchdog timer
- Two Battery-backed event counter inputs
- General-purpose comparator
- Lockable 64-bit programmable serial number
FM31256 operating voltage range is 2.7V to 5.5V that allows the use in 3.3 or 5V powered systems. It communicates with a microcontroller through the I2C interface that supports 100kHz, 400kHz and 1MHz speed.
You can find the FM31256, 256kBit integrated processor companion with F-RAM, in SOS electronic stock range. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact them at [email protected].
