The ambient light in rooms is suffient for that and can even be stored internally, to be able to work also on days without light. This is all available in the small and standardized PTM form factor.
For configuration and initiation there is a NFC interface. The STM 550 is available with the EnOcean Standard in the frequencies of 868 MHz for Europe, 902MHz for USA and Canada and 928MHz for Japan and with the worldwide working Bluetooth standard in 2.4GHz.
