ECIA Releases Survey Results and Podcast with Latest Industry Insights on Coronavirus Impact


Disconcerting headlines continue to announce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on people and markets around the world as it emanates from the epicenter in Wuhan, China. From the start of this crisis, ECIA has been actively gathering research to enable increased visibility for participants in the electronics components supply chain. 

This week ECIA has released the results of its latest survey of electronics component manufacturing and distribution companies. This survey which ended February 21st provides the latest assessment of the impact of the Coronavirus on electronics component supply chains. In addition, ECIA members can access a new comprehensive survey of approximately 6,000 electronics industry participants, 85% in China, which also addresses the Coronavirus impact. Also, ECIA has released a podcast with valuable insights from a February 21 interview with Chad Moutray, Chief Economist at NAM.  In his discussion with ECIA’s Chief Analyst, Mr. Moutray shares his analysis of the economic issues resulting from the Coronavirus, including NAM’s estimates of the impact on 2020 forecasts for the manufacturing industry.
