Digi International and SparkFun Electronics Demonstrate 8 Cellular IoT Use Cases at CES 2024

Digi International and SparkFun Electronics have collaborated to launch a series of embedded solution development boards that combine the popular and robust Digi XBee® module platform with SparkFun’s expansive Qwiic® Connect Ecosystem.

The combination of these technologies brings I2C-based rapid-prototyping tools to a wide range of users, from hobbyists to professional R&D developers, who are looking to integrate cellular IoT from sensor to cloud.

At this year’s CES 2024, Digi International and SparkFun showcased the power of these platforms through the Digi XBee Sensor Lab that featured the Digi XBee® 3 Low-Power LTE-M/NB-IoT Global modem paired with the SparkFun Digi XBee Development Board, Qwiic ecosystem parts, and Digi Remote Manager®. The Digi XBee Sensor Lab is a comprehensive demonstration of how to go from sensor to cloud with Digi XBee 3. The video demo reference link below walks through each part of the demonstration, highlighting eight potential applications/use cases including: Noise monitoring and predictive maintenance, Actuating, Connected agriculture/monitoring irrigation, and more.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with SparkFun,” said Bob Blumenscheid, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Digi International. “We’re so well aligned in our visions when it comes to supporting developers with excellent building blocks that simplify the complexity of IoT projects and support rapid time-to-market. By combining pre-certified modules with code libraries and tools for configuration, testing, deployment and remote management, we can give developers the leg up they need to succeed.”

These collaborative board integrations are ideal for developers looking for seamless cellular IoT integration from sensor to cloud.
