Altus Ready to Unveil New PCB Laser Marker

As the production of highly advanced electronic assemblies’ increases, the importance of traceability has never been more important. Manufacturers are looking for ways to implement processes to improve production. To help to achieve this objective YJ Link has released the new YLM series Laser Marking solution which Altus Group, leading supplier of capital equipment in the UK and Ireland, will introduce to customers in July.

The new Y series laser marking machine has been improved with many more benefits to its predecessor. ‘’We are very excited about the YLM range, in our eyes the most affordable and technologically advanced laser marker in the market today,” explained Joe Booth, Altus Director – Business Development and Marketing.

“The machine has incorporated lots of market feedback from the ALMC range and clearly with a keen eye on the competitors in the field, to really move laser marking solutions a few steps forward. The options have been simplified and all as standard making it dramatically faster, with a new GUI, smaller in size and all with an internal flip; it is an ideal solution for the UK and Ireland market.’’

YJ Link’s Y series laser maker continue to integrate the top of the range Panasonic laser sources but now includes several updated features as standard, including fiducial recognition and internal flipper to achieve a 20% cost saving. There is also a keymark camera helping to prevent the wrong PCB coming in and hold-down clamping to ensure the correct position is held to maintain marking distance and stop mis-alignment.

An important feature of the new Y Series is its faster cycle time. Compared to its predecessor, it is an impressive 11 seconds quicker helping manufacturers to meet high production targets. It has an improved Graphical User Interface for greater ease-of-use and consistency enabling users to learn the system quickly and use it efficiently. Additionally, the footprint is much smaller allowing manufacturers to utilise space within a facility. As well as its reduced dimensions, its improved design build allows for easy maintenance and therefore reduces time in upkeep.

Altus Group will be investing in a demonstration system to support their local customers out of the Redditch facility with feasibility trials and either remote or ‘covid secure’ demonstrations, so if you are looking for a cost effective solution for your traceability needs, contact Altus, www.altusgroup.co.uk
