Alif Semiconductor™ – power efficient processors and microcontrollers

Alif Semiconductor, supplier of scalable, secure, connected, AI-enabled, power efficient microcontrollers (MCUs) and fusion processors,  announced the launch of its Ensemble™ and Crescendo™ product families. Built for the exponential expansion of intelligent IoT, Ensemble and Crescendo aim to enable products to think and act efficiently, whether the processing is done locally or in the cloud, making them ideal for applications such as smart city, connected infrastructure, asset
tracking, healthcare wearables, biometrics, smart home and appliances, point-of-sale, robotics, and much more.

Unmatched in the market, the Ensemble and Crescendo families are built on latest generation-embedded processor technology that scale from single core Cortex-M55 MCUs to a new class of devices —fusion processors —that blend MCUs, Cortex-A32 microprocessors (MPU), and Ethos-U55 microNPUs for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) acceleration into one device. Alif Semiconductor’s technology platform also includes Cat-M and NB-IoT Cellular connectivity with integrated SIM (iSIM), global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning, large on-chip memory, class-leading power characteristics and strong security features, delivering the key functionality of entire embedded IoT designs in a single chip.

“We founded Alif Semiconductor because we wanted to provide an integrated solution for developers that need efficient AI, wireless capabilities, trusted security and long battery life,” says Syed Ali, Alif Semiconductor co-founder and CEO. “This just didn’t exist, until now.

We’re thrilled to announce our Ensemble and Crescendo families of fusion processors and look forward to seeing how they will disrupt the way developers create intelligent machines.”

The Ensemble family contains a wide range of scalable devices. High-end fusion processors combine two application MPU cores capable of running high-level operating systems, two real-time MCU cores for real-time operating systems, two AI/ML accelerators, and class-leading amounts of on-die SRAM and non-volatile memory. These fusion processors also provide high-speed wired connectivity, graphics and imaging functionality. Low-end devices scale all the way down to single real-time core MCUs.
