Advantech Europe update on its response to COVID-19 outbreak

Amid the current outbreak, Advantech Europe continues being attentive to expert advice from health officials, and to travel recommendations and protective measures issued by local governments across multiple jurisdictions. Advice from the Dutch National Institute for Health (RIVM) – which applies to both Breda and Eindhoven where Advantech has offices – is being followed.

Furthermore, Advantech is restricting corporate travel to a minimum and new, more robust safety measures are implemented across the company. These include a reduction in meetings and new guidance to help employees to work from home. The company’s Milan office will remain closed as a result of latest developments in Italy; the Advantech IT office is also closed but people are working from home in the interim.

Advantech is continuing its company-wide efforts to alleviate disruption from the COVID-19 virus by posting regular updates on a live Data Platform created specifically for this purpose. Employee safety and health remains Advantech’s top priority at this time; as of today, no infections are reported among Advantech employees.

Advantech’s production centers in Taiwan increased their capacity to 120% in response to short-term production gaps in order to reduce the overall impact on the company’s global operations. Manufacturing capacity in China has now recovered to 82% output.
