ZF’s Bluetooth® Low Energy Switch Module is Compatible with Mesh Systems

Auerbach. ZF Friedrichshafen AG will be presenting at the Light + Building Show in Frankfurt from 2nd to 6th October 2022 the batteryfree Bluetooth® Low Energy switch module.

The introduction of Bluetooth® 5.0 has enabled the possibility for compatibility of a mesh operation (e.g. Silvair), in which each Bluetooth® device can forward data from neighboring devices. In addition, the risk of interference of signals in the same frequency range can be limited by intelligent frequency jumps with up to 1,600 jumps per second on free channels.

The switch module from ZF is an energy harvesting, wireless and batteryfree switch module for the building automation sector (e.g. lighting and shutter control).  Using the mechanical actuation of the rocker, a voltage pulse based on induction is generated to reliably send RF telegrams via the Bluetooth® Low Energy RF standard. The switch module has four contact points, which allows to realize up to six functions (with two rockers) e.g. for the switch on/off or dimming.

ZF presents in hall 9.0, booth B54 the Bluetooth® switch module including Silvair mesh function in combination with an Osram LED.

The Energy Harvesting switch modules from ZF offer user a high level of flexibility during the installation process. The products prove their reliability with almost unlimited lifetime, do not cause any environmental pollution or waste and have no maintenance costs.
