Würth Elektronik move to The Vic following £9million renovation by Peel
Würth Elektronik is a German manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, circuit boards and customised solutions. The UK sales office is the base for the support of UK and Ireland customers, here they support companies of all shapes and sizes included in the electronics market, from some of the biggest electronics companies to the smaller one-man electronic design companies. The group is backed by the privately owned Wurth Group a €14 billion turnover business.
UK Managing Director, Martin Warrington, comments, “Although the 2019 market has been uncertain, our business model of forming strong customer relationships with technical knowledge, backed up with industry leading service levels, means growth is inevitable. For us, employees are the core to our business, the new flagship office is something we can all be proud to call home.”
The UK management team at Würth Elektronik, comprising of Martin Warrington, James East, Glen Wallis and Emma Duffin, are excited for this next stage of the company’s growth. Having been based in Salford Quays for 10 years, they were keen to remain in the area and the opportunity to join the thriving community at MediaCityUK was a draw, matching their employees’ lively work and social balance.
The Vic is the result of a £9million redevelopment of a character building in MediaCityUK. It is the anchor of Harbour Lane – an area with health, wellbeing and mindfulness at its core. The Vic has been transformed to support a healthy work-life balance with on-site amenities such as a new bike store, locker and shower scheme, an enhanced ‘Bean’ café and spaces assigned to facilitate a programme of fitness and exercise.

DENTON have been appointed for the fit out with works scheduled to complete by the end of the year. Richard McNicholl, Director for DENTON, has worked closely with Würth Elektronik through original space redesign to full proposals for new scheme at the Vic. He comments, “Engaging early with Martin and the team has helped us understand their needs, with staff wellbeing at the heart. Kate Rainey, lead design on the project developed the scheme around the people and business process, which encourages collaboration and interaction, while providing flexibility too. We are looking forward to handing over the space to Würth Elektronik, wishing them many successful years in their new home.”
