Teledyne LeCroy announces new automotive Ethernet test solution

QPHY-MultiGBase-T1 automates compliance testing and validation of 2.5G, 5G and 10G Automotive Ethernet, as described in the MultGBase-T1 (IEEE 802.3ch) specification.

Detailed connection diagrams ensure the proper setup and provide information about the required test pattern for each test. Upon completion of the test session, results are automatically compiled into a comprehensive report including screenshots.

· Supports all Physical Media Attachment (PMA) Transmitter Test

· Highly automated and easy-to-use

· Report generation with pass/fail results and fully annotated screenshot

· Complete test solution including test fixture and cables

The requirements for higher data rates in vehicles arise from cameras, displays and telematics units (TCUs) in the vehicle and require fast network backbones to implement domain controller or zone controller based vehicle architectures. The MultiGBASE-T1 Ethernet standard meets these requirements by encompassing speeds of 2.5G, 5G and 10G. Compared to 1000BASE-T1, MultiGBASE-T1 uses PAM4 (4-level) modulation with symbol rates of 1.4, 2.8 and 5.6 GHz.

As MultiGBase-T1 is used as the backbone of future vehicles, it is critical that developers have a method to quickly confirm compliance with the specification to ensure interoperability. QPHY-MultiGBase-T1 is highly automated and guides users through the conformance testing process. Should errors occur, advanced troubleshooting can be performed using Teledyne LeCroy oscilloscopes.
