Exclusive Interview With eBOM X Rebound Electronics

Q1: In relation to COVID19, as the world is slowly going back to normal, are there any new obstacles your company faces which the pandemic has caused? If so, how are you overcoming these?

Our first concern throughout the pandemic and moving forward has been the Health and Wellbeing of our employees. We have invested in equipment including temperature readers.  More importantly, we have been cautious making any changes to the measure we have in place such as testing and social distancing. It has been important to recognise that everyone’s home working situation is different, so regular online meetings and even social events have been vital to avoid isolation.

Q2: With the latest technology and AI becoming more advanced, how is your company keeping up with these times?

Our comprehensive supply chain network contributes and benefits from Rebound’s shared knowledge philosophy, providing instant access to changes in market condition, regional supply pressures, expanding markets, product launches, and end of life & production pinch points.

Direct access to distribution channels, combined with application automation utilising AI and application managed workflow, provides market availability for our local and international sales and purchasing teams to process customer orders for shipment from any of three global shipment locations. All of which have direct access to the same live application data for processing incoming and outgoing component shipments.

Q3: How did your organisation avoid supply chain disruptions during the pandemic?

By ensuring we had agreements with our courier partners across the globe and having live data flowing straight into our internal system, we could keep product moving across mainland Europe.

We set up a parallel warehouse in Gdańsk – working to the same standards as our industry-leading UK-Hub; we completed this in preparation for Brexit. Having this in place meant not only could we ship product from the mainland to anywhere in Europe seamlessly, but we could also use it to support our customers in the shortage market and have vital components delivered to anywhere in the world within days.

Q4: Do you believe employees working from home is sustainable and will be the future of the workplace?

The pandemic has certainly accelerated the trend to home working or at least a blended model, but for us, in terms of culture and the collaborative nature of our business, we believe that a thriving office is integral to our success. Crucial in this area is the onboarding of new staff for them to feel comfortable in our organisation. That said, long gone are the days of a Monday to Friday heavy commute – which isn’t ideal for anyone.

Q5: Is there anything exciting in the pipeline within your company which we can expect within the next 12 months?

We have lots of exciting projects on the go right now, including some massive changes to our website, more video content, office expansions into new regions, and expanding the work area within our UK Distribution Hub. It is such an exciting time to be involved with Rebound, and it is a credit to the hard work and dedication our entire team have shown – not only throughout COVID but also since our formation.
