Chromasens Line-scan Camera Helps Increase Manufacturing Yield

Chromasens has broadened its line of allPIXA cameras with the new allPIXA evo 8K line-scan color camera. Designed for machine vision, the camera features a GigE Vision 2.0 compliant, dual 10 GigE interface combined with a CMOS sensor consisting of 16 lines of 8K resolution (16 x 8192 5µm pixels). Each of the 16 lines may be independently controlled and allow for different read out modes. Full-color RGB image capture at line rates up to 3 x 90 kHz help to increase manufacturing yields while saving money with  the cost-effective 10 GigE interface.

Multiple line and frame trigger options, variable encoder input, and color conversion possibilities support the allPIXA evo 8K in the rigorous high-speed inspection of printed materials, semiconductors, PCBs, EV batteries, raw material surfaces, and food, as well as sorting applications. In addition, because the camera is equipped with multiple TDI options, the sensor amplifies sensitivity to operate at very high line frequencies in lower light environments by detecting weaker signals without the need to oversample. Also, filters in the near Infrared range (NIR) enable the recognition of object features in the visible and NIR spectrum with one camera. An outstanding signal-to-noise ratio assures unparalleled quality in color imaging where dynamic range is critical to success.

Thanks to its 10 GigE interface, the camera will seamlessly connect to lower cost 10 GigE Vision compliant network interface cards, while eliminating the need for frame grabbers and expensive Camera Link cables. Along with the 10 GigE interface Chromasens gives the option of connecting the camera using optical connectors for longer fiber cables. Depending on the type of SFP+ transceivers and the fiber cable, data captured by the allPIXA evo 8K can travel on multimode fibers up to 300 meters or 3 times the cable length of the current GigE Vision standard.

The uniform industry-wide GigE Vision standard also makes it cost-effective to replace older GigE Vision-compatible cameras without requiring changes to the software. Because fast integration is essential to reduced production downtime the allPIXA evo comes with an intuitive graphical tool and an SDK for control and image capture in Microsoft® Windows® and Linux platforms
