Advantech breaks down the barriers to digital transformation

At IOTSWC, Advantech reveals its plans for helping organisations with their commitments to the environment, energy efficiency and safety.

Advantech, one of the leading lights in industrial computing since 1983, has carefully studied the digital transformation market to identify any barriers to its adoption – starting with the end users.

Jim ten Broeke, Business Development Manager IIOT at Advantech Europe explains: “From meeting with clients across sectors, industries and around the globe, it’s clear that public and private sector operations alike recognise that digital transformation can make a significant impact in achieving their goals. More than that, they’re ready to take on this challenge.

“But, making progress beyond an initial declaration is still difficult. After all, simply answering the question of ‘where to begin’ an IOT project can take up a lot of time.

“Traditionally, we worked as suppliers to system integrators, who themselves supplied their customers. Much of the work was done in isolation. With so much to achieve, often to very tight deadlines, we struggled to give clients the results and value they deserve.

“So, instead of working with them at arm’s length, we’re partnering with end-users, system integrators, connectivity suppliers and anyone else that provides essential components of the IoT solution. Together, we’re co-creating a more intelligent future.”

At IOTSWC, which runs in Barcelona from 29th to 31st October 2019, Advantech and its partners will showcase the results of these efforts.

Solve Digital, an AWS Partner, for example, will give visitors on their booth a demonstration of what can be achieved with AWS Greengrass edge computing. Partners in this project, as well as Amazon’s cloud computing subsidiary, include IFM, the sensor and actuator company.

At Advantech’s booth 235, visitors can discover the possibilities offered by Solution Ready Packages, which meet this rapidly growing market’s demand.
