Pickering Interfaces, the leading supplier of modular signal switching and simulation solutions for use in electronic test and verification, has launched an updated version of its signal routing software, Switch Path Manager Version 6.1.2, which adds auto-detection and route caching features that improve speed and performance.
Pickering’s Switch Path Manager (SPM) simplifies signal routing through switching systems of any complexity and speeds up the development of switching system software. It supports Pickering’s 1000’s of switching modules and the interconnection between them. Once a switching system model has been created, signal routing can be achieved simply by defining the endpoints that are required to be connected. Useful features like short-circuit detection are included.
The latest version, 6.1.2 introduces an Auto-Detect Configurator which communicates with the switching hardware and automatically adds the required switch module details into the SPM configuration, greatly minimizing the initial software setup task.
Route Caching is a means of improving routing performance. Performing a route calculation before making each switch path connection takes time and slows the test program execution. If there is a sequence of identical connections, Route Caching avoids repeating routing calculations by using the stored route data, thus speeding up the switching.
Comments Noman Hussein, Software Manager at Pickering Interfaces:
“The SPM software is greatly-valued by our customers, and we have listened to their feedback to make it even more useful with improved features that make it more powerful and easier to use.”
